2016 - The year of the online 'agent'?

As you read this there seems to be something of a media frenzy about the future of estate agency in general. For many homebuyers, just what an estate agent will do may be a small mystery.
What does the traditional agent do?

-Has a pool of local qualified buyers who are spoken to weekly
-Encourages and accompanies viewings to minimise client inconvenience whilst using professional sales people to sell
-Negotiates and liaises with solicitors, surveyors, mortgage brokers.
-Deal with chains, problems, emotion through training and years of experience.
-Is available 6 days a week in highly visible, inviting offices to discuss progress, results and challenges
-And, yes and, we only charge a fee once we have performed and got you moving at the best possible price.
What does the online ‘agent’ do?
-Allows your property to be advertised on big portals
-Takes a fixed sum of money now or later, sometimes, irrespective of performance and results

We can find definitions of an agent, here is one;
a person who acts on behalf of another, in particular:
synonyms: representative, negotiator, business manager, emissary, envoy, factor, go-between, proxy, surrogate, trustee, liaison, broker, delegate, spokesperson, spokesman, spokeswoman, frontman, mouthpiece;
Well I cannot see, in a month of Sundays, how Mr http.colon.slashslash can claim to get close to that. He is simply not an agent.
West London is a massive area by volume, scope and desirability of property. A melting pot of communities needs and hopes. At Rolfe East we represent half of this prime chunk of London real estate and employ around 50 people, across 9 departments to truly service this. Interestingly, one of our ‘colourful-breeze block’ online people is proud to announce they have one, just one, local expert. We believe we could need 100 to be your agent!  If you are considering what you may save, also consider what a true, local expert could do to help your property sell.

Cheap or highly effective?
The choice is yours...

...we would love you to contact the true professional agents, namely Rolfe East!
