Ashley Rolfe and Simon East both served their apprenticeships with independent West London agencies, Ashley in Chiswick and Acton, whilst Simon served predominantly Ealing, Haven Green and Ealing Common. They started the business in 1983 believing that estate agency needed upgrading, particularly in customer service and true career paths for people who shared a combined love of people and property .
As you will see from our ‘meet the team’ section - apart from the founding partners, we have many team members with decades of service in the West London property market and with Ashley, an original founding partner still being in the thick of the business. Out of our 25 team members, over 1/3 are part of our ’10 year club’. This isn’t just testimony to the Rolfe East close knit team attitude but also pays great dividends to our clients.
On another slightly light-hearted note, we have been known to double up as an informal dating agency and count several births and marriages among (close) team members. In fact we have taken the family business to a new level with both Patrick and Christopher East previously serving with us, as well as Max and Sam Rolfe who are with us currently.
Both of our founders went to school in Ealing, our third director Jon Hadfield has clocked up 23 years in Ealing. Many of our staff are similarly long-serving. This - and the thousands of people we've served in the local community over the years - demonstrates just how local we are.
We officially opened our doors for business on 10th October 1983, at 51 The Mall, Ealing. Thirty years later, we still operate from that same shop-front, although we now have other offices as well: in Acton, Greenford, Isleworth, and Northfields.
In the early years, Rolfe East comprised two young and ambitious estate agents with a passion for communication and a commitment to sales. That passion and commitment remain to this day, but they now apply to a much broader range of services including lettings, property management, new homes, and commercial sales and lettings. Our growth and development demonstrates just how long-standing we are.
For us, being independent means so much more than not being part of a high-street chain. It means being part of a network of similarly like-minded and independent property professionals (surveyors, mortgage and insurance brokers, solicitors) - voluntarily. It also gives us the freedom to think outside the box: the freedom to create a completely virtuous property circle. Our knowledge of, experience in, and commitment to each of our services enriches and amplifies all the others. It's no exaggeration to say that, whatever your local property interests, we can cater for them.
